What is ideaRing?
ideaRing is an AI voice ring from ideaShell. Tap the ring to start recording — no need to take out your phone. Ideas, to-dos and passing thoughts go straight into ideaShell, where you can organise and act on them.
What is it made of, and how big is it?
The outer shell is titanium alloy, the touch area is ceramic and the inner ring is clear resin, CNC-machined as a single piece. It measures 7.5 mm wide and 3.0 mm thick. A size 10 ring weighs 3.81 g — larger sizes weigh slightly more. There is no screen; an RGB indicator light shows status.
Is it waterproof?
The ring is IP68 certified. The charging case is not waterproof — keep liquids away from the USB-C port and the charging contacts.
How do I control it?
By touch — a tap and a long press. The ring confirms your actions with haptic feedback, and an RGB indicator light shows what it is doing.
How does it pick up my voice?
A single MEMS microphone with acoustic tuning and voice gain. Effective pickup range is roughly 5 m on iOS and 7 m on Android.
How much can the ring store on its own?
Up to 4 hours of audio on the ring itself, using ADPCM compression. Recordings upload to the cloud automatically once you finish.
How long does the battery last?
5–7 hours of continuous recording, and 3–5 days on standby. Larger ring sizes hold a larger battery. Recharging in the case takes about 1.5 hours to full.
What about the charging case?
62 × 62 × 9.5 mm, with an aluminium alloy shell and an ABS base, charged over USB-C. It refills the ring about 20 times. A side button shows the case's own battery level, and a light on the front shows the ring's charging status.
Which phones does it work with?
Both iOS and Android, over Bluetooth BLE 5.2, at up to 7 m.
What can the AI actually do?
Beyond transcribing, ideaShell turns what you say into notes and lets AI agents carry the work forward from there.

Ordering
Why should I buy the Sizing Kit before ideaRing goes on sale?
Ring size is not something you can judge reliably from a chart, and ideaRing is not returnable simply because the size is wrong once it ships. Finger size also changes with temperature and time of day, so the only dependable method is to wear a sizing ring for a full day. Doing this now means that when ordering opens you already know your size and can order straight away, instead of measuring first and risking a wait while stock runs down.
What is the Sizing Kit and do I need it?
The Sizing Kit helps you find your ring size before ideaRing goes on sale, so you can order without delay. It is $20 USD and comes with a credit toward your ideaRing purchase. Buying it does not reserve or pre-order an ideaRing. See the full details.
When does ideaRing ship?
ideaRing is expected to go on sale in September at the earliest. Subscribe with your email on the homepage and we will tell you when ordering opens.
